Why are we complaining about Lomberg on an intentionally bad team?
Dude is always singing and having fun. Seems like a good guy to keep around when you are terrible on purpose.

Because he doesn't help anyone play better. Everyone has worse results when they play with him. He doesn't win puck battles, and if he's been providing any energy, it hasn't been helping them win games. Playing Zary with him accomplishes nothing.

He’s one of the only guys playing with energy. His give a crap meter is higher than anyone on the team.
I agree, playing him with Zary is a borderline war crime though

Even though I am back on the Tankwagon, I can’t root for a loss, but I did text him a similar request.

Because Sharan gave Huska every reason to bench him last game, and we only have 13 forwards.
Watch #17 on that play:

Lomberg doesn't need to be an every game guy. He's a great guy to have on your team but he can do that by being the 13th forward

Obviously because Huska has used up all his coaching mana last year and his abilities have to cool down before he can use them again.

Totally agree with him not needing to be an every game guy, but who is his 8 min of ice time blocking? What young non-roster player fills that ‘Energy’ role?

I don't know if we need an "energy role" tbh. I wouldn't complain if they had a 4th line of Sharangovich-Kerins-Klapka or whatever and utilized them differently. I think a more 4 line balanced approach is completely fine given the state of the team

The issue remains you have a 4th line that makes no sense if you have Zary and Klapka playing with Lomberg.
The whole idea of an energy line makes no sense when you have only one guy that plays that way.
They are scratching Sharangovich tonight because the coach wants to hold him and only him accountable for his play on the 3rd goal against (he was benched after that).
But really Sharangovich - Zary - Klapka makes a lot more sense than Lomberg - Zary - Klapka longer term.

It's taking time for fans to adjust their old habits to the new system.

allowing Sharangovich to play at all doesn't make much sense to me...he needs to sit for a while IMO. You can be snake bit or frustrated but effort is not negotiable.
