Huska hockey is hard to watch though. Even though I'm happy we lost, the system has to be the most boring in the league.
Dissentower was right all along. Huska is no good. But it does help the tank so happy he is here.

It's not hard to see that Parekh isnt ready. I want to see the young guys play too, but he really isnt standing out in any way. Junior is the wrong place for him to develop right now, but so is the NHL.
Keeping him in the NHL may do significantly more harm than good. Junior is the better option, even though its not a good option.

You play a big chunk of a game on three defencemen, you're going to give up goals. Meh.
Too bad they got shut out. Apparently nobody told the tank brigade that watching a team without talent is no fun. I see they're out to complain about the loss they wanted so much.

Give Parekh all the time he needs and more to get back to 100% then do an AHL conditioning stint in time for World Juniors.

Has a prospect in their 19-20 year old season ever been seriously derailed by going back to junior instead of playing in the NHL? The amount of damage or developmental delay from going back to junior is extremely exaggerated.

I believe he's ineligible to go to the AHL this season for any reason, conditioning stints included.

No, he could do a conditioning stint, but it's only allowed for a limited time.

I dont disagree. I think the proper place for him is obviously the AHL as he's dominated junior for two years straight now.
Not an option obviously.
He shouldnt be in the NHL though. That much to me is clear.

Even though I agree that he’s too good for Junior I’m at the point where I think we should just send him back.
He’s clearly not ready for the NHL and he’s just going to get hurt staying here.
It sucks, but I just don’t think it’s a good move to keep him in the NHL much longer. Have him heal up in time for the World Juniors and send him back. Have him finish the season here again.

This just proves a tank is not enough, you need a great tank commander. Not sure we have that.
Some of these fresh contracts CC signed are really starting to bug me.
Advanced stats blah blah blah. Yegor is Mario Lemieux according to advanced stats.

Yegor has his own issues but he's never going to look good playing as 4th line center with Ryan Lomberg as his winger.
Also Connor Zary has been even worse than Sharangovich and again was a team worst 26.6% xGF tonight
Huberdeau - Frost - Coronato
Sharangovich - Kadri - Farabee
Honzek - Backlund - Coleman
Zary - Kerins - Klapka
Maybe call up Kerins, sit Lomberg, and try something different. Even if just for a game or two.

Can anyone pinpoint the part of Huska’s system that limits the frequency of odd-man rushes or breakaways for the flames? I’m not asking sarcastically. He’s been the coach for a couple seasons now and, even when the team is playing well, it seems like the number of odd-man rushes they generate against opponents is usually lower that what I see from other teams.
And it’s not like the system works both ways where the other team does not get odd man rushes. Seems like it happens pretty frequently against the flames. Is it the players? Are they just not executing or is it that the passive defensive system means they spend so much time defending that they have to make a line change before they can generate a rush chance?

Yeah, a whole bunch.
You’ve just never heard of them because they got derailed and never made it back.
10s of dozens.
