$55m in salary and $41m in signing bonuses. Can someone explain the significance of the allocation? Thanks.

Good for Connor and Winnipeg.

Kaprizov has Yashin’d himself.

American staying in Winnipeg for 8 years on a deal that really isn't bad compared to Kaprizov's deal.
He has inside info that the Jets are going to move to Houston. Sign long term and keep his PR good... lol

If teams lowed balled their players and tried to wait it out all season, they probably lose their players too.
The year early is also probably because of the upcoming changes to the CBA with max term going down.

What pressure?
If he doesn’t make the playoffs or maybe even another 1st round exit, he might start following in his brother’s footsteps.

You can also hide the bonus in a different tax jurisdiction, I believe.

We might be the only team of the era to lose the stars we did...and still finish in the middle of the league, just out of the playoffs. Maybe we should just embrace it and come up with our own championship where 9th in the conference is the perfect shot.

This is correct, Treliving was brutal on the contract negotiation side.
