Former top 10 pick, only 24 years old, on a league minimum deal with no commitment past this season, and a pending RFA.
Someone will take him for sure. I bet he doesn't even make it to the Flames. He would be a low-risk claim for a team with nothing to lose.

That’s a good reason why you take him, lots of runway left to turn it around and see what he is.
Not sure I understand people saying “no thanks.” Barrie and Hanley are older UFAs, Bean and Miro are only signed for one more season, and neither are looking like long term solutions.
Barrie or Boqvist? I role the dice on the latter.

He's been pretty bad on a very good Panthers team.
Sheltered and compared to his teammates lets a lot of possession against.
Not sure he's worth the waiver.

I am not sure i would want to claim him. I think he is living off his draft pedigree still. For a top 10 pick, he has already been on 3 different clubs at the age of 24. Counter-argument to be made is that he is a hot commodity.. but then he goes on waivers. Florida is already thinner on defence with Montour and OEL (who was good for them) out, and Schmidt and Boqvist in. Now Boqvist on waivers?
If Flames claim him, that's fine. They can try him out until Bahl returns, and then waive Boqvist again. I just don't really see much upside in his game.
