Unfortunate result, but I loved the Flames antagonistic character. Very entertaining hockey.

Ya, but lazy dumb plays really hurt tonight. Could easily come up with five or more.

Who passes us? Vancouver after they trade their top 2 centre's? lol

Avs also lost 5-2 to the Islanders after trading their 3rd best player. Wild lost their best player to injury today.

Lots of hockey left

Coleman-Backlund-Coronato xGF 92.7% at 5v5? Wow.

That's true, that is a big factor and Colorado.

You may have changed my mind.

I think this pre-tournament home stand is the season.

0-1 to start. WSH is a great team but the Flames beat themselves tonight. Should have had at least one point.

We just don't have much skill. They work hard, but even with multiple breakaways it is a struggle to get a goal.

Almost every matchup, the other team has way more skill. But with Wolf, we almost always have the better goalie.

I could see the Blues being more of a threat than Vancouver.

When Zary comes back I’d like to see:

Huberdeau Kadri Pelletier
Coleman Zary Coronato
Pospisil Sharangovich Kuzmenko
Lomberg Backlund Klapka

Backlund can PK and run the 4th line.

Entertaining loss tonight. The difference was the 2-man advantage (and overall discipline issues). Love the swagger that Andersson is bringing. He is very similar to Iginla (sans the fighting) where he becomes more effective when he gets angry.

Hell of a game from Barrie. I always worry about Barrie's lack of footspeed on the PP (and it did bite him in the butt tonight), but overall, I liked his game. Way more effective than I thought he would be.

Klapka was awesome in the 1st period, and then sort of disappeared in the 2nd. Made a brief appearance again hitting Wilson hard (which was awesome), but then taking a bad penalty (which Wilson probably sold, but still a bad penalty to take at that time in the game). There is a lot of good in that package, but he needs to play more disciplined and more consistent, or he will never be an everyday NHL'er.

I really liked Bean's game tonight, especially early on. Just needs to get better at keeping pucks alive. Really strong game by him tonight to start, but I thought he faded a bit too.

Everyone else played well. Coleman had that brain fart, but he was hungry tonight. Very engaged all night everywhere. Pelletier had his chances too.

It was nice to see Mangiapane. I always liked him, and though I do think it was the right decision to let him go, I was still sad to see that trade transpire. Hopefully he picks it up a bit more in Washington.

Wolf did more than give the Flames a chance to win. Too bad he didn't get much run support. Thompson was great.

Hopefully the Flames can take advantage of the next few games against some easier competition.

Backlunds line dominated at 5 on 5...just get him off the PP

Seemed like Kadri was getting really annoyed about the faceoff procedures tonight. They commented on it a couple times. Still finished 12-for-20.

Ya, but I view Coleman as a huge reason why. He hounds the puck on the forecheck and has a great stick, wins battles, and gets the puck back quickly. When he’s not throwing pucks around, he’s a beast.
