I love this extension. A very underrated player who grew a lot last year. Perhaps he's still around by the time this team really contends, but if not, we can trade him easily if needed. Really provides some stability at the top of the lineup until the kids are ready.

Love this, was hoping we’d keep him and the term and $$$ are awesome. You can’t go all in on rookies in a rebuild, you need some vets and he can be one of those for when we’re ready to compete again.

When the Flames got Sharangovich, I complained because his extension was too short and he'd soon be a UFA.
But that's moot now. Looks like he'll be part of the core for a while. As much turnover as the Flames have had, it's nice to have a guy who is on the right side of 30 and will stick around.
