Markstrom was great. Hanifin/Lindholm have to sort out that play with both of them running to Roslovic and leaving Danforth wide open.
I thought Jiricek was pretty good although they didn't play him much.

Oh God the Sutter cry babies are back at again.
Ruining game threads just like last year.

Andersson doing his best scooter impression at the end.
Hopefully that's just a tired team because there was a lot of really lackluster play.

Disappointing, but I am too tired to be angry. Move on to Detroit.

Yeah I haven't really been watching much of the last three games. Mostly radio.
Sounds like the system is good but you'll only go as far as your ability to finish will take you, and the Flames don't have much of that.
Heard that they looked tired. It's too early in the year to look tired.

Perfectly okay start with only 1 home game. Nice thing about this team is it seems they can roll 4 lines without much issue.

Markstrom is definitely a positive sign early on.
The offence makes me sick at times though, it seems putting the puck in the net is foreign to the forward ranks.

I agree! deep team. Fast, strong. Obviously I want huberdeau kadri and lindy to be good. But when their heads arent in the game at least the rest of the lineup isnt the scrubs half the league ices for a bottom six these cap hell days.

CBJ was off since Monday, Flames played last night.
Tough game, could have gone either way. I won't be losing any sleep about it.

They’ve been better than I thought, and yet only 5 points in 5 games. Not good given the level of competition.

We outplayed a team on a back to back that hasn't played in 3 days.
A lot of better efforts. Lindholm Kadri Huberdeau all got better as the game got deeper.
That's a good sign. Lindholm was starting to make a lot of plays. Huberdeau was connecting on passes and getting in open areas. Kadri was fired up and passing the puck.
Hit the net and finish some chances and it's easily a win. Some bad luck as well.
At this point I'm liking what Gilbert brings over Zadorov a much smarter player in the offensive zone.

C'mon Flames, you need to make us want to enjoy watching you again. Gear up Iggy, lol! At least it would be entertaining for a while.

Move Rasmus and Noah at the deadline, bring up Solovyov and Poirier.
Wait for Pelts to be back.
Wolf incoming at some point
This team will be faster, younger, and better sooner rather than later.

Markstrom/Vladar are no doubt made to feel like Hasek in his prime at practice.
They get into game situations and they're like "Holy ####, these guys actually know how to bear down and score a goal when they get an opportunity.".
They can't emulate in practice because no one can score to save their life.

The Huberdeau and Kadri hate is getting a bit much, they need to produce but also not the reason they lost tonight.
Huberdeau was the top forward with 73.1% xGF (and 25% offensive zone starts) and Kadri was 2nd with 71.5% xGF.
Probably Kadri's best game of the season.
Overall the teams forward lines are starting to build some chemistry and IMO seem to be generating more each game (even if the puck didn't go in tonight).
Win on Sunday and you will be 3-2-1 after the first 6 games with 5 of those on the road. I'll take that start.
