Should have known that the Summer of Brad would be followed by the Fall of Brad.

Uneasy feelings about this one.. hoping for the best but I was really hoping it would be Tre steering the ship and maneuvering us around these upcoming UFA's next season and this summers draft.

I don't like this. I do not like the direction the team is headed in. I hope I am wrong, but I see a long period of worse than the mediocre team that they have been. Not a fun time to be a fan.
This year was a slog and struggle to get through as a fan. I still watched every minute of every game, but it was a chore.
I am hoping it was just the season from hell and they bounce back, but every single game, every single goal, it seemed they had to work so hard to get, then one mistake by a player or a bad goal against due to poor goaltending and they had to start over.

Depending how other teams do in the playoffs, Treliving should have a job opportunity fairly quickly.

Bradolf the Grey is done??? Unreal how old I feel right now lol. They were few and far between but thanks for the couple exciting years in your time here Brad; finding Sutter with the previous core a year too late really hurt and Bennett being a bust in terms of draft pedigree supremely affected this core. If we land a Pastarnak or Nylander with that pick I think things turn out differently… please just move on from Sutter too at the very least. Ugh.

Will miss Brad a lot. Lots of uncertainty right now, Maloney being the POHO doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.
Only way I'll like this is if he hires a progressive, forward-thinking GM

I'm thinking this is more a case of Brad wanting to head for greener pastures. It's clear that he and Sutter weren't on the same page. Leafs will probably have him on speed dial pending the outcome of their first round matchup.

Holy ####! End of an era by a GM who IMO did a lot more good than bad. Best of luck wherever he goes. Some team with deep pockets that gives him autonamy is going to win a cup with him at some point, mark my words. Can easily see him getting the PITT job.

What did you like? Signings/buyouts like neal brouwer etc 0 conference finals appearances despite numerous first round pick trades, spending to the cap each year, etc ?

Reading the tea leaves here…. I wonder if the Sutter hire was forced upon him, and there was a power struggle.

Congratulations on your escape Brad. He cared a lot about this city and team and I can't help but feel that he was done a bit dirty by the organization. Probably one of the better GMs this team has had.

I could not be any more upset to see that Maloney is in charge.
This franchise does not make good decisions.

BT didn't want to untie the knots he made with the Huderdeau and Kadri contracts.

Deep pockets? He spent to the cap every year, fired many coaches, signed and bought so many UFAs so he had money to waste here.
