And if he’s their best player does that smell like a championship team?
I think Stutzle is 21 years old so he may even improve.

In Austen Matthews D +3 year he was a paltry 44th in league scoring.

Kucherov got 18 points in 52 games in his D+ 3 year. He improved after that.

So I think there is room for growth for Stutzle.

Of course. So would I.
But that's not really the conversation at hand.

Will all the pieces line up having good years together?

Still need a good team, but you need your bottom players to be better (too players will always do their thing)
He's a great player. I just don't think he's at the level of say a Jack Hughes who I do view as elite.

Well he has been on a similar trajectory to Hughes except better. Better in rookie year, better in D+2 and event his year he will likely slightly outperform Hughes. Don’t see any reason not to expect Stutzle to put up 100 point pace like Hughes is this year next year.

On pace for 90 pts as a 21 yrs old. He is not elite? Ok boss lol

The Sens needs a real goalie and a couple solid dmen and they are ready to contend, assuming their forwards continue to grow

I absolutely would, but I'd still have the same questions and concerns. It took Toews and Kane and Keith and few other high end pieces to make Chicago a dominant force coming out of a rebuild.

Shoot, go even more recently with MacKinnon, Makar, Landeskog and Rantanen.

Ottawa have Stuztle, but I think they're still one guy away from being an elite team. And since their prospect pool is very weak it's going to require another step from one of the young players already on the roster, which isn't impossible but sometimes that doesn't materialize either.

St. Louis won a cup without an "elite" forward

It can be done, but it is 100% the exception to the norm.

I gotta say, I like Gauthier. Even in his draft year, scouts said he looked like a bodybuilder (he comes from a family of pro wrestlers), but he can skate like the wind. He'll never be a top-line player, but maybe a change could serve him well. He needs to be more physical though, IMO.
