This very disturbing, but is their anything the NHL can do unless the person comes out from being anonymous? If a person was advising Ian Cole they will of course advise to deny the allegations, as the criminal and civil impacts would be huge.

Isn’t there conduct clauses in these contracts? I think they could suspend if they determine they broke any of them.

There’s certainly a level of aggression and “take what you want” (ie entitlement) attitude bred into elite hockey players over the course of their lives, and I’d expect is a big component in why they’re such good hockey players. Just my opinion but I think we’re seeing the result of raising young boys & men in this manner, while also treating the elite ones like rockstars outside of the game. When that mentality is being bred into them on the ice, and they more or less grow up on the ice, that mentality doesn’t always turn off outside of the arena.

Edit: I should add, I’m not trying to excuse their behaviours. What I think needs to be mandatory when the dust settles after this movement, is there needs to be some level of life-coaching at the junior hockey level. League-mandated. Teach these boys how to behave in life off of the ice.

So let's roast the Oilers who continue to give these dirtbags opportunity and millions of dollars because they are good at a kids game. If some of these guy actually had consequences things might change.

There is a big difference between having a player you signed before allegations came out on your roster and actually pursuing players with issues in their history because you can get them at a discount to help your terrible cap situation.

Edit: And I fully expect the Flames will deal appropriately with any player directly named.

Just because there are likely undiscovered issues on other teams in hockey, that doesn't mean we should stop shining a light on the discovered ones.

When others come to light, they should be denounced as well.

Some level of life coaching needs to begin with Mom and Dad before the player reaches the junior level.
