He was outstanding in the 2017 playoffs. Us getting swept with the Brian Elliott meltdown and the Matt Bartkowski ugliness was such a shame because the level he (and Bennett, and Ferland, and our whole top 4 D) displayed that year could have been enough to go all the way to the final

Monahan is a guy I followed all the way from his rookie year in juniors because he played with someone I knew. The teammate told me he would be a good pick and he was right. Hopefully he can recover from all the injuries and get his game back.
He was so clutch from the start of his career. His chemistry with Gaudreau was undeniable, but then people insisted that he was merely a product of Gaudreau. I think Monahan was a very good player with a high IQ, a willingness to do anything to win, and play through any injury. He was a real talent, almost impossible to stop in the shootout, and did I mention he was so clutch?
Monahan practically ran through walls for this organization and he will always have my respect.

Thanks for all the memories Sean especially that OT goal against the Habs at the Bell centre to silence the crowd so that myself and a few Flames fans could go bezerk!
Funny that he is traded to Montreal.
This way he is closer to Gaudreau but not too close!
