If I'm Trotz, I'd ask for at least a 5 yrs contract! If you want to fire me in 2 years, you still have to pay me 3 more years.

Part of me wondered about who was going between the coach and Lehner. Seems we have the answer.
I've written else where that Vegas has to be losing some of their reputation that got them all those players and coaches in the past. This season felt like the year the shine wore off the management at Vegas. They will likely be a decent team next year (though I still await the final cost from the Eichel trade), but some players and now coaches will probably think twice before signing there and moving their families there.
The moment Vegas thinks someone is not helpful or struggling that person is gone. It can't be lost on agents, players, and coaches that this isn't an organization that sticks by its people.

Deboer wasn't the issue there, but coaches are hired to be fired these days. He's a good coach, and he'll be snapped up quick. I think Trotz might go home to Winnipeg.

I still don’t understand why they fired Gallant so they could hire DeBoer. I guess scapegoating the coach for questionable management moves tracks.
