Jack Michaels is so over the top horrible.

How did he get a job? It's embarrassing.

The lack of diving penalties on McDavid is telling.

I guess that's what the league wants. Too bad.

Man the Jets are no good. They are the definition of a promising team that just never turns the corner.

Why not? They are 7 points back with 5 games in hand

Was talking with some Oiler fans last night. He said even most of them can't stand the guy. He said he wants his regional guy to be a homer but "not an ass lick homer"

Lol. I've told this story before here... But back when I was still doing Sportsnet radio promos here in Toronto, we recorded specific commercials for each Canadian city... Everyone got the same copy just with different teams inserted into each spot to make them "local."

Except Edmonton. At every session, they got a special extra promo made that basically told their fans that Edmonton had divine providence from the hockey Gods.

Because IMO they are too good and will run away with the division in the end.

Remember when they fired Drew Remenda after like 1 season doing commentary because he wasn't enough of a bootlicker?

Frankly, it's fine. The Oilers broadcast can be as embarrassing and homerish as they like. Colorado does the same thing - it's ownership pressure that determines these things.

But do not, under any circumstances, allow that broadcast team to be used for games involving other Canadian teams. In every single case, if they're playing another team that has a local sportsnet crew, that other crew MUST call the game. Zero exceptions, ever. No one outside of the Oiler fandom should ever have to be exposed to them.
