No one has mentioned it but last year I saw several highlights of guys busting a twig and immediately skating to the bench where trainer was already waiting with a new twig and it took no time at all.....and in a couple instances said player went on to score a goal.
Announcers even joked the trainer should get an assist on the goal.
Because we are taking about getting sticks from the bench, this was one of my favourite plays. Crosby had that shift where Dumoulin broke his stick, so Crosby gave him his. Then Crosby picked up a stick on the way by the bench and scored.
Two of Crosby’s sticks were involved in the goal!
