Flames 2 Isles 5

Consistency, Consistency, Consistency

Flames need to find it and soon!!!.
Flames arguably boast one of the best bluelines in the league. Flames arguably have the best player in the league, one named Jarome Iginla.
Flames have a good backup cast to help Iggy but they cant seem to find consistency. So, where do we look. AHA..we look at goaltending where the problems seem to lie.
Miikka Kiprusoff, clearly a fan favourite, has been the preverbial poster boy of inconsistency. Play a game, rest for two or three..play a game..rest for a game. Miikka has to develop some strength and be able to put some games together in a row to help this Flames team out. And if thats not possible, GM Axmann has made it clear that he will look elsewhere for a one that is more consistent.
One thing is also very clear, Brent Krahn is not ready for the big time yet and we hope that Brian Boucher gets his ass back soon into the lineup. His role would certainly help the Flames establish some more consistency between the pipes.

Goalie Statistics

Brent Krahn (FLA), 29 saves out of 34 shots, L, 1-7-1
Miikka Kiprusoff (FLA), 0 saves out of 0 shots
Jocelyn Thibault (ISL), 20 saves out of 22 shots, W, 13-4-5

Power Play Conversions FLAMES 0 for 1
ISLANDERS 1 for 6

After jumping to 2 games above 500, the Habs have lost 3 straight. Apperently still showing the effects of the "GREAT PARTY" following the 6-1 pounding of the so called champions, the Boston Bruins, the Habs seemed to have lost their focus.
The Habs fell behind early and could not recover. Down 2-0 after the first period, the Habs managed to cut the lead in half before the end of the second. However, despite 7 powerplay opportunities in the game, 4 in the final frame, the Habs were not able to strike back.
The Habs face the Leafs, perhaps GM Beerfund will find a way to get the squad refocussed to face teh division rivals.
