Over a 1/4 through the season and the coach hasn’t figured out a single line combo
He’s waffling between healthy scratching a guy and trying him on the top line

Very clearly in over his head

The Flames will, for some reason, look like world-beaters against Edmonton and then suddenly everything will be okay here.

Until the play hockey again and look like a completely different team.

That's been the Flames since Ward took over. One step forward, two steps back.

never mind the bizarre lineups for the forwards, why the hell did Ward change up the D? It wasn't broken.
Now the forwards AND the D are messed up.

And our superstar goalie had to be pulled.

Andersson is still a great physical defenseman.

Nesterov can stay too, he plays smart at both ends considering he's on the 3rd pair.

Lucic is a solid 3rd line player (and James Neal was put on waivers).

Gaudreau, while snake bitten tonight, seems like he gives a damn this season.

Monahan skating back hard and has been pretty good defensively as opposed to last season.

Hasek, sorry... Markstrom is a fantastic goaltender who you can build a championship team around.

And finally, I am curious to see what Brett Ritchie can do for this team. So far in only one game, he's shown more hustle than Simon and Nordstrom.
 |
So we need someone who can combine them and get good result as a whole team.

			If I was Ward
 Gaudreau-Monahan-Lindholm
 Tkachuk-Backlund-Mangiapane
 Lucic-Bennett-Dube
 And whatever else

 Hanifin-Tanev
 Gio-Rasmus
 Valimaki-Nesterov/Mackey

I'm kinda done with rotating 4th liners throughout the lines every game. Time to play your top 9 players on your top 3 games.

Would help if Chucky found his game again. And if they could start the game on time, which has been a problem for years, for whatever reason.

There's lots of time left, but there's no guarantee this is a playoff team.

When I watch the Flames play well, they are playing a tight system. I agree with some of the arguments that the system isn't the right one for the roster, but a tight system nonetheless.
So how are they supposed to execute a detailed system when the lines are being constantly mixed? It seems like an obvious outcome.

I know, coaching. Rough game to watch unfold.

Brad Treliving is a master of RFA contract extensions. He is a master of leading a draft.
But he's created his own death bed because he doesn't know how to hire a fuc**** head coach. Just has to try to be the smartest guy in the room and hire under-the-radar guys instead of targeting the obvious choices.

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes. Team constantly shooting themselves in the foot. Not enough pace in their game compared to the Canucks who just want it more tonight. Actually...in the 4 games of this series, I’d argue the Canucks wanted it more in all of them. Flames were fortunate to even get 4 points. This is not a team right now, this is a collection of players skating with the same jerseys watching their goaltender steal them games.

So many things wrong with this team. Frustrating to watch certain guys coasting around and hoping someone else will back check.
The keep going backwards into your own zone until you cough up The puck is getting real old.

Losing the series to the Canucks after they were reeling is really disappointing.
There are all kinds of issues with this team when the best line every game seems to be whoever is playing with Lucic.

Sutter beat the crap out of a garbage can.Gulutzan hammer threw a stick into the 15th row.
Ward will iron your slacks if you bring it to him before the pre-game.
