I personally think Minnesota won the trade.

Adding two better picks for a player who's been very below-average in his career so far and looks like he'll be a third liner in the NHL.

Plus, Nick Bonino is actually a decent player, and while obviously a decade older and really a cap dump, is a better player than Kunin (at least for now).

Kunin is getting a little overrated.

He's two years into his career though...for a 32 year old with one year left on his deal. Lots of room left for Kunin to develop and get better.

This is a win-now trade for Minny, which appears to be their strategy with all these moves. But man, that looks like a terrible trade to me.

Gotta give their GM credit though - he got the deal done. /S

It was already pretty clear that MIN is tanking...probably hoping to make it a quick tank + retool.

It's abundantly clear now. Probably hoping to flip Bonino at TDL. Would have thought Kunin is a piece they'd want to keep, but you've got to give to re-stock I guess.
