No question Peplinski, watch those mid 80s highlights and he was a beast and a pest against the Oilers, from taking on Semenko the odd time, to MClelland and Hunter, to scoring goals. A big guys, especially for the 80s.
In my opinion in 1989 he was better then McDonald by a fair margin, played most of the games in the regular season, and it’s really too bad he wasn’t on the ice to play in game 6. It really was at the sentimental expense of McDonald, who he more then doubled scoring in the regular season, and playoffs.
He played only a few games the next year, done basically at 29, and most forget his handful of game in fall of 1994.

I’ve always wondered what that last season (94-95) was about. Coming back after 5 years away. Can anyone elaborate on that?

There was a lockout in 1994 and the season wasn't able to be started until January 1995, so he cannot have played games for the Calgary Flames in the fall of 1994. I think he came back in Feb 1995 or something.
