That's a pretty blah list. I was going to vote for Guy, then maybe Big Ern but decided in the end to vote for Stillman, an unspectacular but solid player. Still not sure I made the right choice.

Kind of stunned to see Hull get so many votes, he barely even played in Calgary.

I voted Donovan.
To me it's about what happened in that number while the player wore it.
2004 Donovan was absolutely incredible.
Edit: ive also been surprised during this process about how many people are including Atlanta flames contributions in their criteria. That to me feels like if current Phoenix fans included jets players in their all-time rankings. It feels wrong to me. Nothing at all against Guy who was certainly a better, more skilled player, but Donovan was such a massive component of the biggest moment in franchise history in the last 30 years.
If Donovan is healthy for games 6 and 7 the flames probably win that series. IMO his injury broke the camel's back in the final.

I wasn't sure what the answer was going to be so I had a quick look- interesting fact- Donovan scored one more goal as a Flame than Hull

I struggle with this, I try not to put too much weight into Atlanta contributions (because lets face it, first of all even rabid NHL followers weren't get tonnes of Atlanta Flames content prior to 1980), but I give it a small amount of weight- in general the original Flames guys aren't exactly tearing things up- there aren't exactly a lot of guys who have won so far from the original team that had a nice playoff run themselves, at least I dont' think so

Personally I just vote for what I know, so any player I never actually watched myself I don't vote for unless it was a star/no brainer like Lanny

The only difference between the Atlanta Flames and the Calgary Flames is Calgary is further away than Atlanta is for me

Things I remember about Donovan. Hat trick at home, seemed like first in years in 03 and 2004. Against Pittsburgh maybe, in an afternoon game?
GWG to start the Flames off vs the Wings in Game 3.
A beautiful breakaway goal against the Sharks put game 2 away.
Flash is right, his injury in Game 5 of the SCF really was a low key big turning point. Neimenen came in but wasn't the same as Dono was for grit and some soft hands for 6 and 7.

All I can get

Went with Stillman (begrudgingly). Though Stillman netted us Conroy (which did wonders for the team).

Jassen Cullimore fell on his leg..................looked deliberate to me. Cullimore also picked Chris Simon on the GWG OT goal in game 6.

Chouinard was a big part of the attraction I had for the Flames right off the bat, along with Kent Nilsson. What a passer he was.

If this is best Flames player to wear #16 then it's easily Guy Chouinard (Guy had 50 goals and 107 points one year in ATL along with other high scoring years). If it's best Calgary Flames player to wear #16 I'm going with Cory Stillman just because he was in Calgary much longer than Guy and had decent numbers over that longer stretch.
