Wow He could be the replacement for GG and/or Trevling. Smart, articulate well grounded. As an accountant he would likely be really good managing the salary cap.

Seriously does every single thing have to go back to a shot at the Flames? Or a fire someone quip?
We had a nice thread about a feel good story that had nothing to do with the Flames, and it feels like you had to come in and Millhouse it in a extremely unfunny way for no reason.
Here let me help you out here.
Fire GG, trade Gaudreau.
We good here?

That save on Stastny was a pretty good one - I don't think anyone would have held it against him if that had gone in. Now he can say he played in the NHL and finished undefeated with a 0.00 GAA and 1.000 save percentage.
This does not have to do with the Hawks play in general this year, it has to do with a god damn beer league goalie being protected enough by a NHL team that is equally #### as the Flames to stop 7 shots
One time when they had a good enough reason to try
Yeah it was a pointless comment...this story has nothing to do with the Flames and there is no need for a shot...reality is they didn't really protect him much anyway they allowed 7 shots in 14 mins and a couple good chances.
If we need to go there though Calgary had a stretch of absolutely locking it down and allowing like 4 chances a game and the goalies were still allowing two or three.

The Amateur Tryout Contract does NOT require compensation, is what I've read. He keeps the jersey, though.

They should sign Foster to another 1 day contract and start him again. Would be awesome and sell tickets, not that they have problem with that. Actually, Flames should sign the guy and bring him in for the rest of the season to try and salvage this train wreck going on here.
Could be like a modern day goaltending Sergei Makarov.
there is no doubt that the 'Hawks were using a collapsing D to protect the guy...and I am sure that the guy was 1st star just because of the novelty of it. But, he did face, at least. 4 quality shots, from bona fide NHLers, and turned them all back, and he did play 14 minutes, a not insignificant time for a team the caliber of the Jets to fill a net. Moreover, a 36 y.o. accountant, whose last significant game appearance was 13 years ago? Good story.
Best post game quote: Did you see Coach Q laughing when you walked by him to take the ice? Foster: "I would have been laughing too!"
Best TV guy quote: Pat Foley ('Hawk HOF announcer), as play rolled towards Foster for the 1st time: "I don't know if those are butterflies in his (Foster's) stomach, they are probably more like condors!"
I just rewatched the last 14 minutes of the game. Anyone who has Gamecentre should check it out the Hawks feed. Quality stuff!
And as said, some of those chances were really good saves. That save on Stastny was a grade A chance. Byfuglian got a clear shot from the slot.
Definitely one of the cooler hockey moments of the season.
Kind of gives you a reminder that this is a game, and games should be fun.
After every awkward save the fans roared their approval and the Hawks slapped their sticks on the boards in appreciation. It was cool, Coach Q's look of complete bemusement when he stepped awkwardly on the bench made me chuckle.
This has been a hard season of hockey, I can live without the playoffs as long as its fun and it has moments, but in a season of far too few moments, and a appreciable lack of fun.
This was fun to watch, and seeing him shrug like "No big deal" at the one of the game while his inner self was shouting "Yes Yes Yes" and fist pumping to the point of a should dislocation. Then seeing the Hawks swarm around him to congratulate him was amazing. Seeing him step out as a Star of the game, warranted or not reminded us that, well.
That this is a game, the worlds not going to end without the playoffs, and all too soon the memories of this season are going to fade, but we'll remember Scott Foster for a while, because it was smile worthy.
As an aside, video uploaders like this are so dumb. "Hey, a really special moment where fans want to take in the sights and sounds and hear the chants - You know what this needs? Some ****ty theme music bopping over the top of the entire thing"
"Yep, that'll really put my stamp on it and solidify me as an elite uploader".
