This team needs to try scoring more off the rush. Seeing some great chances as a result of keeping their feet moving and driving hard to loose pucks.

3M are actually good cyclers but still set up Giordano's goal on Saturday off the rush. Monahan and Jankowski broke out behind some surprised defenders in alone on Bishop last night. Even aging Stajan got a glorious chance on a 2 on 1.

Skate, use your speed, make the opposing forwards back off to allow a defenceman to join the rush.

A high number of missed shots is generally an indicator of a good team.

Of the top 10 teams in missed shots, 7 are in the playoffs and one is one point out - us. Three of the division leaders are among the top ten, as well as both conference leaders. The only real outliers are Carolina and Edmonton.

In the bottom 10 teams in missed shots, 7 of the 10 are non-playoff teams, and this includes 5 of the 7 worst teams in the league. The outliers in the missed-shots category are Minnesota and Philadelphia.

Missing more shots correlates with winning. Missing fewer shots correlates with losing.

Outside of that we’re almost certainly looking at statistical noise, not a signal of anything.

I blame the fans who immediately yell "SHOOT" on the powerplay (or anytime we have the puck in the attacking end for that matter).

Is there a stat that shows the amount of times Brodie has the opportunity to shoot but passes it to Hamonic in the corner for a worse shot?

Hamonic and Brodie have got to be the two worst shooting top 4 Dmen in the league. The softest of shots

I mean, really? Fans yelling “shoot” is the issue here?

The guys are too worried about getting the initial shot away and the opposing team can smell "impending pass" like two seconds before it actually happens. Predictability is a concern as well as getting it away in a hurry.

Throw some more fakes and jukes in there darn it, I'm looking at you Brodie...

Shots blocked doesn't seem to be an issue.

Hamilton has the most blocked shots but has way more shot attempts.

Calgary's three bid defenseman are ...
Giordano 38%
Hamilton 34%
Brodie 33%

But the Pens have Letang at 33% and Maata at 30% so ball park
