Of course that was a tighter checking game, this one is blown up with the Czechs halfheartedly grinding out the clock. Doesn't need to activate, nor play any real defense.

Czechs with 2 in the 3rd early, to make it less embarrassing. 7-2 now.

Final score 9-3 USA.

Fox will have a bronze medal to go with last year's gold.

That will be 3 medals for Flames prospects this year. A gold, silver, and bronze.

Only thing left to determine is the colour of Dube's and Lindstrom's.

Brady Tkachuk says his favorite American-born NHL player is David Backes. More proof that everyone hates Matthew Tkachuk

God dammit. I'm here an hour early then. Never trust Calgarypuck!

... or I guess more accurately only trust Sureloss.

He captained a Canadian squad that isn't exactly star studded to the Gold medal game. What were you hoping for from him? He's not a top ten pick.

On the PP and PK as well.

He's not a uber skilled guy who's going to wow you. Probably end up being something close to what people thought Klimchuk was going to be.

Not in the least. Kind of the opposite, actually.

Just realized how great his speed is. I never expected him to be a star offensive player, so to see how he's a jack of all trades player and captain makes me very optimistic. He'll chip in with a little bit of offense but can play any position up front, in any situation. Those kinds of players are very, very valuable. I see a bit of Backlund in him. I think he's got a real solid career ahead of him.

I don't think Dube is going to contribute much at the NHL level. Mirror image to Lazar.

Really? I think he'll replace Backlund in a year or two.

If you're disappointed in Dube, it's on you and your expectations.

He is a 2nd round pick that is captaining TC. He has speed to burn and is an extremely intelligent player.

He was a 2nd round pick because he doesn't have the offensive flair of a top pick.

His future in the NHL is likely that of a defensive specialist - PKer, checking role type.

And guys like that are needed.

He has, to this point, only exceeded expectations. And was a steal at #56. Can't wait to see him on Backlund's line.

The TSN radio guys on the pre-game show were giving the Swedes little chance. I hope our guys weren't listening.

Dube is more skilled than Lazar. Put up a much better PPG than Lazar did throughout his junior career.

Yeah I don't see Dube putting up much more than 25-30 points a year in the NHL. However he will bring a very strong d game and will be able to check other teams top lines.
