I think the point isn't that Ovechkin can afford to do this or that other players do more or less, the point is that the guy wandering through town saw a guy down on his luck and helped him out randomly just because he is a good guy, most people don't notice the homeless, we tune them out, Ovechkin has more of an excuse than most for going through a road trip paying little attention to anything more than his phone and the hotel its a nice story that shows he's a decent guy.

Even Ovechkin feels sorry for people living in Edmonton. Nice gesture by him. Hopefully one of these years they finally break thru in the playoffs.
