Ouch Montreal on the verge of yet another loss. They don't even have a regulation win yet...

Montreal is an average team when Price is playing like the best goalie in the world and an absolutely horrid team when he is struggling.
I still can't believe they traded Subban and wouldn't pay Radulov. Also, although it is still early, it looks like they lost the Drouin trade.

Can somebody beat the freaking Kings? I don't understand how they improved so much over last season.

It's ok, we can and we have a player who mentally destroys Doughty. I'd welcome a playoff series with them.

MTL have Price till he's 40 at 10 mill and Weber at 7 till he's 41. Even if they rebuild those contracts are going to #### them. They are just absurdly long for players who are showing signs of regressing and probably passed their prime. Yes Price still is extremely good but his best years are behind him considering the roster MTL is putting on the ice. Weber is gonna be like Phaneuf with an even worse contract. The guy can't move, what's he gonna be like at 37 with 4 years left on that contract. Jesus christ

Jonathon Quick played like 15 games last year. They probably did pretty well in those 15 and will be a much better team with him all year. Although Aebischer was very good if memory serves.

Sure he was. In 2004. Wrong former Avs backup goalie.
You're thinking of Budaj, who was pretty decent (0.917 sv pct, 2.12 GAA in 53 GP). Quick actually had worse stats (0.917 sv pct, 2.26 GAA in 17 games.) I think the issue is that the Kings couldn't give Budaj any run support, likely because they were doing their best to keep the puck out of their net.

They had good goaltending without Quick last year, but I believe you mean Budaj though. Aebischer is retired and has not been very good since 2004.

Old boys club (Kings) looking revitalized oddly.
Their old legs will wear down though.
Oldies.

Jaden Schwartz was the man for the Blues as he gets a hat trick. Tarasenko with 2 points. Sobotka was the bad boy for the Blues, he was in the penalty box for 8 minutes in the 3rd period including a triple minor. What a contrast, the Blues out shot the Bhawks 17-4 in the 2nd period and then the Bhawks led 16-7 in shots in the 3rd period.
Nick Jensen with 3 assists for the Red Wings in a losing cause. Nice to see McElhinney play well and get the win. The Leafs explode in the 1st period as the Red Wings coach said with "some kind of funny goals." Marleau played in his 1500th NHL game. Great pregame ceremony for Gord Downie, the CBC postgame links I posted with the final scores has other links on the page that talks about Downie.
Montoya played well in net for the Habs facing 42 shots and summed it up best. "This is tough right now. You're in the game the whole game until the last 10 minutes and you get blown out like that. This is a tough one to swallow." The Kings explode for four goals in the final period with Kempe getting a hattrick in that period. He had 4 points and so did Cammalleri who had 2 goals. Quick had his Nestle drink as he made 36 saves.

The Kings did have a decent record with Quick in net. His record was 8 wins, 5 reg losses, and 2 OT/SO. He had 2 shutouts, 2.26 GAA, and 91.7% save percentage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Quick

When you bury a guy on the 4th line who was top 10 in scoring before his knee injury last year you deserve to be in almost last place. Glad I went to bed before the third last night, I felt that game slipping away.
The Carter hit was weird, Petry's skate just rode up.

I'll add that the only thing good about last nights game to me was the fact that they played the Hip twice during stoppages in play. In Los Angeles. Nice.
