Sending robots to space is like watching other people have sex. It's exciting for a little while but eventually you want to get into the action.
Not if one of them is a toothpick and the other is a garbage bag.

I'll leave it up to you to decide which is male or female!

Quick question...

Why is it people bag on the US all the time saying how very stupid they are but when it comes to NASA and space exploration all the "we" and "our" words come out?

Not trying to be an ass but why doesn't Canada have a space program? Certainly have the talent and with the budget surpluses there is not reason that it can't be done. If the government is looking for a non confrontational method of increasing Canada's stature in the world this would be a good method.

But we've already done it. Many times.

Im confused why this is such a new and exciting venture. Did NASA lose all their notes from the last moonlanding?
The people and the technology that did that are how old now? If they are going to use new technolosy they need to give it a thurough testing.

I don't understand why they don't invest this kind of money into sea exploration. I mean, there is so much we don't know about our own planet, most of it being in the oceans.
They do. Except it comes mostly from private sources. More efficient than from a government source. As well most of the underwater exploration data to date is top secret info in vaults across the globe.

As is there is no private company or consortium that can do what NASA does....yet.
