I have a salvage, there's really nothing wrong with buying one as long as the price is right (else you'll take a hit when selling it) and you do your homework.

Range rover however, way worse than a salvage!

Personally I dont understand the appeal of a Range Rover. They're boxy looking, ugly, expensive, bad on fuel and (apparently) not reliable at all. But I see them quite often

I remember looking at Consumer Reports for used vehicles and I think Range Rovers were at/near the bottom for every category

Salvage is a good way to save some money on a car but there are so many shiesters out there you really need to know what your getting. They are better if you actually buy them and do the work yourself, or farm it out, so you know what you have.

Insurance estimates are usually very generous and as a rule they have to replace everything that has even a slight scratch, so the money to be made is repairing it yourself and living with some of the cosmetic blemishes.

If your selecting a car to rebuild the process of picking out the one to start on is very time consuming and more painful than any normal car purchase. And you rarely get what you want. haha.

I've done a few, great way to get a second car, car for the kids, etc. I've made money on a few salvage bikes too. Never bought a rebuild off someone else though. I'd really have to trust them.

Do salvage titles ever indicate the damage? If a vehicle was written off for flood damage, I wouldn't want it do to potential rust, mold and electrical issues. But if it was body damage it would be a different story.

Regardless of salvage issue, if you're on a strict budget or have no money to waste, do not even think about buying a Range Rover. At least not one that isn't covered by a warranty.

They are almost always at the bottom of every reliability list, along with brands like Fiat and Jeep, and have been for decades. If you're really in love, go ahead and buy one, just know that you better have some extra spending money or know how to wrench.

Salvage vehicle = No
Salvage Range Rover = Hell no!

One of the worst vehicles out there for maintenance.

For the benefit of future generations, it must be emphasized how bad of a decision this would be.

Anything in SK that is written off for anything water related, flood, immersion, injestion, is tagged non-repairable. You can still sell the parts but the vin is no good.

It's been said, if you ever want to really see the Australian outback take a Range Rover. If you want to come back, take a Jeep or a Land Cruiser.

All Range Rovers should come with standard "salvage" titles.
