It's simple really, less losing of games and more winning of games.

The worst thing you can do as players are getting used to a new system, a new coach, and new teammates is to mix everything up constantly. Put the lines together you think will work best and keep them together. This is about being comfortable on the ice, and the more you switch up d partners and wingers, the harder it is to get comfortable and have any flow.
If a guy is legitimately underperforming, bench him, but other than that, do nothing and let them build some team chemistry.
Far too many overreaction threads lately. Every team is going to go through a 1-3-1 stretch at some point this year. It just looks worse when you start that way against teams you expect to beat.
TL/DR: This team just needs time. They're not going to win a cup this year, but they're a helluva lot better than this.

Johnson hasn't lost a game in regulation yet. So, it's a no brainer.

Tell the defence to NOT stand 5 feet in front of the goalie on point shots!

I would fire Gulutzan and replace him with one of the dozens and dozens of CPers who are more knowledgable and qualified to coach an nhl team.
Frankly it reflects quite poorly on Treliving that he thinks GG knows more about hockey and is more qualified to coach than one of us.
Mind bottling, really.

I would keep my TV turned off and watch the highlights instead. At least until this team starts playing with some jump.
This game is all about having fun, and for whatever reason this team is not doing it. That needs to change...

I don't think discussing this topic or answering the question raised in this topic necessarily means the respondent feels the are more knowledgeable and qualified to coach an NHL team than Gulutzan, than any any other NHL coach, or than any other responder to this topic.
BUUUT - Gulutzan did make 2 of the 3 changes I proposed, and half of the third one (inserted Hamilton, but sat Tkachuk not Versteeg). So maybe I am!!

No you're right, this topic in and of itself isn't off base. Fans are free to suggest changes.
But I am a little surprised, and maybe I shouldn't be, at how quickly large parts of the forum have turned in our new coach after just 5 games. It seems crazy to me to completely turn on the guy so quickly. That has cascaded up to Treliving and down to our players. It's basically torches and pitchforks all around.
It's not just a few concerns here and there. It is 100% certainty that Gulutzan is an idiot and they know better than him.

Exactly what I've been saying also. Yes we see it up in the sky, we've watched the team and the players develop in great detail. I Tre-lieve super hard and have faith that he really thought long and hard on hiring Gulutzan. It's a new system that the players haven't played before, we didn't have a full roster during training camp.
To sit here and pull out the pitchforks after 5 games is absolutely premature against him and Tre (who by the way, probably has set us up better than majority of the other NHL teams for 6 years of success simply based on our cap structure with gio, brodie, mony, johnny contracts, should they follow the trajectory they have thus far).
