Tkachuk definitely has flaws to his game, many of which can be fixed with maturity. With another year of development, he'd likely be more polished and consistent.

That being said, he doesn't look out of place playing with NHLers. He's clearly better than many others on the team. I do think he is too good for junior. Honestly, I don't think the OHL would be best for his development. Development is all that matters for him.

He looked good with Bennet and Brouwer. He reminds me of Corey Perry when we're on the PP. Always goes to the front on the net and does his best to interfer with the opposition goaltender.

Too good for juniors. He has things that need time, and I think the pros is where he needs to work on it. Too bad a year in the A isn't an option. I think he sticks with the Flames though

I don't agree. He has a lot of work to do this year in Stockton imo.

Man, I wish I saw that in this game, but I just didn't. I have massive hopes for Jankowski. Right now I think he needs just a bit more seasoning. Although, it's the first game I've seen this preseason so I may be wrong.

You mean the PK? The PP was ranked 22nd last year.

He's lacking intensity.

He would benefit from being in positions where he had just a fraction more time to make a decision. I also don't think he's played well enough to supplant an established player and I think guys like Hathaway and Hamilton have the inside track on him.

He differently does. He looks timid out there now that he isn't one of the biggest players on the ice.

Playing 4th line minutes in Calgary while adjusting to the pro game is not what Jankowski needs. A year in Stockton will do wonders, and I bet we see a different Jankowski this time next year.

Not that what we saw was bad or anything, he just needs more time

I was hoping for a big game but he really struggled out there. Maybe just a bad game, let's see how he looks next game.

I have a feeling he's going to be the next cut though.

Completely agree with this from what I have seen.

I'd be very surprised if he's the next cut, but I think he certainly needs time in the AHL this year. He probably won't get sent down until Monahan and Backlund are both back.

Well, this thread has gotten rather quiet all of a sudden. Not many people expressing thoughts about players right now or anything anymore.

I like the Ferland-Hamilton pairing. It will be a shame if Bollig and Stajan take up space on the fourth line over those guys.

Gaudreau-Monahan, Backlund-Frolik, Bennett-Brouwer, and Hamilton-Ferland are my forward pairs at the moment.
