Luke Adam? That's an interesting name. Too bad he never lived up to expectations. Really interested to see what he brings to the table.

No monahan is concerning. Hopefully no big deal but weird to see him kept off the list completely.

Now that backlund looks like hes got at least a moderately serious injury losing monahan for any length of prep or season time would be terrible

Wouldn't be surprised if, given that Brodie and gio are apart, we see GG take a look at Brodie on the left side. He and Engelland have played well before.

I like how Smid is not skating, but I don't like how Money isn't.

I also like how Raymond and Russell are still hanging around. Its like an ex who's just not getting the message....

Interesting. So all skates appear to be at the Dome this year? I figured they would be back at WinSport again. I took my son last year and it was a good opportunity to get him a couple autographs. I'm not sure the access will be as good with it being at the Dome, or does someone here know if this would still be a possibilty there?

I haven't gone in a while, but usually they don't let the general public into the lower bowl for practices and training camp at the Saddledome. Security is usually pretty quick to intercept people trying to get to the lower bowl.

You might still be able to meet players as they enter/leave the dome though.

Hmm, curious what the Monahan not skating translates to. hopefully it's that he'll start camp off resting/recovering and eventually back in late in the preseason.

If not, our Center depth could look weak to start the season...

Bennet
Stajan
Vey
Hamilton
Jankowski

No Ellerby as Boomer (960) had speculated. No loss.

It was probably Robak his source was refering to, one of many other former Panthers dmen who were a bust.

#Flames centre Sean Monahan is day-to-day. He is being cautious after straining his back training earlier this month.

Sounds like Mony will participate eventually just needs a few extra days.

#Flames Sean Monahan will not skate with back strain. Hopeful he will play final 3-4 exhibition games to be ready.

No doubt, that centre depth is rough. I sure hope Backlund and Monahan are good to go for the start of the season. The flames can't afford another slow start, it will cripple their playoff hopes.

Even if they come back later in the preseason it makes it harder to absorb the new system.

I am the least worried about this. Historically speaking—and for whatever reason—teams with new coaches tend to perform very well in his first season, and seldom seem to experience struggles in implementing new systems. This is anecdotal, but my recollection of the last several coaching changes (DeBoer in SJ, Trotz in Washington, Laviolette in Nashville, Desjardins in Vancouver, Gallant in Florida, etc...) suggests that this is a bit of a trend.

Is there more of these PTO invites than usual or is it just that some of the names are more recognizable?

Higgins, Korpikoski, Adam, Grossman, Frattin.. and then I am sure more that I don't know the name.

Bummer that we won't get many reports from practices since they are being held at the Dome.. Not as much info from CagedGreat and others I guess this time?
