The problem is it's not that easy to just say: let other people do it. It's quite a lot of effort. CFF probably spent an hour on each one last year.

But I will think about it.
but these threads need to be started

I really appreciate the work you put in last season CFF, wouldn't mind helping out once a week. We could work out some sort of schedule thing.

Only thing is I don't post that much, so I'm not very familiar with all the formatting and the whatnot.

^ Good point, Enoch Root.

Maybe I'll do a couple, I think I can handle it. I have classwork to deal with, but I should be able to work around it. Around December and March would be optimal, but I'd like to do the first three games of the season, if possible.

While I appreciate all the hard work people do, I never read any of it. Maybe a peak at the rosters and look for funny faces in the pictures. That's it.

Back in the day it was often like a two sentence post that barely mentioned the start time and channel. I'm not saying that was better, I just mean I think we could survive with some fairly lean GDTs and it'd be fine.

Honestly, who cares. That's obviously dickish but it's nothing anyone should spend this amount of time wondering about. If the Game Day Thread hasn't been started anyone can and should create it if they wish to talk about the upcoming game.

Game day threads are great for a collection of that days news and creepy puppets.

Hey listen, it's no skin off my nose if people want it short and sweet. Saves me a LOT of time. However, lots of people say the opposite and like reading these write-ups. I'd rather give people what they want. Either way is fine by me though.

100% disagree.

This forum is where I go for my news on scratches/lineups/pre-game information.

I'm not even sure I understand your post. You appreciate the hard work but then make a post about something that would literally not effect your life if you didn't click on the GDT. If you don't read it then simply keep doing what you're doing?

If anyone wants to do an extensive GDT OP, knock yourselves out. I'm sure there's people who really like the extra commentary. But I think for the majority, teams/start times/channel is enough. If anyone wants to go into more detail, they can also contribute in the thread

That way there's no undue pressure on anyone to come up with lengthy writeups

Anyone can do that within the thread itself if they want, it doesn't have to be the first post.

We need Puppet Guy and his creations as a part of the GDT threads

Tbh I usually only read CFF's writeup . I'm sure there's good analysis further in the thread but that is the added trouble of sorting through the rest of you people's mindless drivel

I feel like we had this exact same discussion about the merits of game-day threads last year too. I also remember that it went nowhere as well.

If you don't want to read a long OP, ignore the OP. Other people want to read them. It's better to have an option for everyone. I've always loved reading CPF's GDTs.

No one is saying he shouldn't do them. But if he can't/doesn't want to, I don't think there needs to be any sort of schedule to replace them

Well the feedback is loud and clear. Short and sweet it is. I'll do them when I feel like it and everyone else can do the same.

Listen I didn't want to be a jerk about it. I think it's great some of you guys are that dedicated.

I meant it more like, don't worry if we have to wing it. I love filet mignon but I've survived on boiled hot dogs and stale bread, so either way I'll be fine don't worry about it.

This.

we dont need an appointment of thy holy game thread starter

if anyone feels like starting a game thread, just start it and let the masses decide which of the threads they'd want to continue posting in
