When you think of players from yesteryear and how they would do today, Niewendyk is a guy who I think would have thrived in today's NHL. He was so good in front of the net and great hands in tight. With defencemen unable to crosscheck him into oblivion I think he'd score nightly.
The lines with Roberts and Loob, and then with Roberts and Makarov were outstanding. The line with Stern as well wasn't too shabby either.
Wish we could have seen him on the same line as Jarome....
