Would have thought Crawford over Quick, but Holtby should win it regardless

He's probably my last choice out of the rumoured options for the Flames.
I also think he will adjust poorly to upcoming reductions in goalie size. He seems to be less mobile and rely more on size than other top goalies.

I don't think the kind of reductions being discussed affect his net coverage that much. His frame will be just as large. I don't think he relies on equipment like, say, Giguerre. He does rely on his own size, which won't be reduced.

IMO Crawford, & Luongo both deserved a nomination over Quick.

Especially Luongo who was the MVP of that team this year and led them to that division title.

Yeah my criticisms aren't based on much viewing experience, admittedly.

I just recall the few games vs the Flames he looked rather bad, especially the one at home this year. He got lucky on point shots because he wasn't making an effort to find the pointman with the puck or was otherwise confused where it was and got bailed out by crossbars or the knob of his stick by accident.

His inability to catch was scary to watch as well.

Depends on what kind of reductions they make, I suppose, but Bishop definitely uses equipment that is far from contoured.

He's extremely tall, no doubt, but he's not especially big for his frame. He wears a massive torso bad to make up for that. The torso pads which extend above and to the sides of goalies are likely to major targets for the equipment reductions.

Holtby easily. Beast of a season and one of the most humble and down to earth guys you will ever meet.
