Kings got spanked by the Isles. Shocked. The Isles could be very dangerous come playoff time.
Or, Enroth just sucks. I hear Kari Ramo is cheap!

"I think this is the issue with the Oilers... after watching them all year, and last year, I think I have it down pat... They take the first pick, the most talented player in the world every year... they have amazing talented players on their team... and when they were younger, the puck always went to them. Now they have to distribute the puck and I don't think they really know how to."

Yes folks, the problem with the Oilers is that they are too talented and they just don't know how to pass it to McDavid.

Ohhhh they are just TOO talented.
They are just a byproduct of being far too talented....that makes sense.

It's actually what I've been saying though too. It's the reason Crosby and Kessel don't work. There's only one puck and they all want it

Tell that to the 76 Habs, or any other great team

We'll see what happens to Nurse in the future, but he doesn't seem overly bright at times. He is young, though. At least he plays like he cares, that's more than I can say about the majority of the Oilers.

What does a great team have in common with the Oilers?

76 Habs played as a team, the Oilers have good individuals but are a bad team. It makes a lot of sense.

No it doesn't.

Lots of teams have had lots of talent. Does having Kane, Toews, Hossa, Keith, etc cause problems for the Hawks?

Did having Gretzky, Kurri, Messier, Coffey, etc. cause problems for the Oilers?

The argument he made is (essentially) that there is only so much room for talent. My reply is that's garbage - lots of teams have had more talent than the Oilers or the current Penguins. And they have done just fine.

 So it's a baseless argument.

The problem with the Oilers (and the Penguins) is that they are poorly constructed. (Well okay, the Oilers have a LOT of problems).

But the 'there's only one puck' argument is silly.

The other surprise of the OOT has the BJs defeating the Ducks in the shootout 4-3!
The visiting Stars are getting there revenge on the Blackhawks, 4-1 Stars in the third period. Chicago embarrassed the Stars in Dallas back on Saturday.Quote:

Beauty pass by McDavid, 3-1 Oilers. McDavid is winning the battle of the two terrible teams.

I understand what you're saying, but Edmonton and Chicago both had well built teams in the past. Edmonton is too heavy and that's it. They aren't built as a team at all.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding Stocks comments. I took it as more that the team isn't built properly.

Stock basically said that the Oilers players - being sooo talented - don't know how to play together.

SP elaborated with the .only one puck. argument.

I argued that lots of teams have been successful with lots of talent on them (i,e, the one puck argument doesn't hold).

By arguing that the Oilers' problem is that they are a poorly built team, you are essentially agreeing with me. So let's stop there.

Really liked the overs today, so I took all overs except 1. Kicking myself for that now.
