We have tons of holes. The vast majority of our team needs to be replaced to be even competitive.

Needed that one, any chance of a successful season is almost out of reach

You're wrong. Every time is a good time to laugh at the Oilers. I will never stop.

But the point here is that it still doesn't seem likely that the Flames will drop all of their next four, and extend their losing streak to seven. That's not to say they aren't a bad team this season; they are. But this fact does not excuse the hyperbole.

Everything sucks.

EVEN with the slow start, I felt they had enough high quality chances to tie the game. So many loose pucks in front and rebounds. I haven't been able to say it about previous comeback attempts, but I'm kind of blown away that we didn't go to OT. Lady luck was taking a dump on the home team tonight, tbf.

What gives you the confidence that we won't drop the bext four? We've dropped the majority of our games since the New Year.

Disagree.
The Flames are, despite the losses and lack of effort, competitive.
It is the same team that rattled off 11 in a row at home weeks ago.
They are playing poorly, have several significant roster holes which have been identified and discussed at length on this board and elsewhere recently, and are carrying too many non-contributing players on expensive contracts.
It is exactly what it is.
Wild hyperbole doesn't add to the discussion, IMO.

There are literally 29 teams in the NHL who are in a position to diss the Oilers at all times.

Wow a two page PGT. The give a damn level seems to be tanking just as hard as the Flames' place in the standings.

The fact that streaks of the magnitude of seven games are just not that common. Even the Oilers don't lose that consistently.

Don't remember a time ever since becoming a Flames fan 20 years ago where I actually don't care to miss a game. The Flames have been my religion for a long time where I'd literally never miss a game.

I just don't like this teams chemistry right now and think a big change is needed in the bottom 6 especially.

They're not getting blown out. Dispite the slow starts they seem to be able to mount some comeback attempts. Most of all we see glimpses of what they can do followed by periods of a lack of effort. Too much inconsistancy.

The Wideman thread is pretty much the PGT today

This. With about 10 minutes of effort they were inches from a tied game against a team playing a fairly strong game overall, which has arguably the best D in the league.

Just no intensity. Brutal effort for what is supposed to be a desperate team.

Yet Hartley said he couldn't fault the effort and intensity. Odd, I found both to be poor until 10 minutes remaining.
