They've all been charged with 1st degree murder and other charges.

Such a useless act of violence. What did they think would come of this? Their 'regular' lives are pretty much over now and for what?
Very sad story.

Guys like this don't deserve to have a life in prison. They deserve a 6x6 cell with absolutely nothing but a hole in the floor to crap in. 24/7/365

I go to the second one quite a bit...I bet I would recognize the clerk.
Sad story that hits close to home.

Personally I don't care about their regular lives being over. They made a choice, just like every human being does thousands of times a day, and now they have to live with it.
Their choice involved the callous destruction of human lives, and I feel no sympathy for them, not even the thirteen year old that helped them.
I don't care if it was the pursuit of drug money or the plethora of other things that make people want to rob or kill. At the core of everyone's humanity they know that killing and robbing is the wrong path, yet they choose willingly to go down that path and snuffed out innocent lives who made the decision to go to work and earn money in an honest way.
These three should go into a deep dark pit and not get out ever, or if they do its when they're old and broken and unable to do anything but let their decisions chew up their brains for the rest of their lives.

This story really bothers me. They executed these guys for less than $50. How can someone have such little regard for human life that they'll kill someone for so little. I just can't believe that people like that exist in our society. May they die horrible slow painful deaths in 50 years after living in a tiny cage for decades.

I'm thinking these were thrill killers and the murder was the first priority, and the robbery was just a bonus for them.

I wanted to know a little more about these people and how human beings can get to the point where they view life so cheaply.
I googled up the social media and photo accounts of the murderers and found exactly what I guess is to be expected. A pair of self-described thugs with gang pictures, guns in mirror selfies, and friends who all look the same and express the same sentiments. It's mainly the anger speaking since I don't want to be a prejudicial person but I don't like seeing that and still don't know how some people get to that point in their lives.

Looking at the accused, my guess is they are both FASD and probably from dysfunctional family for generations. Yeah, its not politically correct and you can say its racist, but sometimes you need to call a spade a spade if you want to have a chance at fixing the problem.

Yeah, I don't get the whole posing with guns on facebook thing. I guess it's allowed? I imagine it's much worse in the states. Too bad this couldn't have been prevented, but glad they caught them

From looking at the pics in the paper from Facebook, I'm guessing these guys are part of the Indian Posse street gang or wanna be's.

I have the other reaction when someone this young kills someone. Society failed this 13 year old kid. Yeah he needs to be locked away because he's likely unredeemable but society failed him.

I hate this line of thinking on so many levels! He could have been given every opportunity to succeed and still ended up being a murderous POS. Until you know the kid story don't blame society.

There are distinct physical facial characteristics of fetal alcohol syndrome that make it easy to spot (thin upper lip, small eyes, big ears, short nose, flat between the lip and nose). It's almost chimpanzee-like.
Having said that, neither one of those guys appear to have those characteristics.

The YOA has provisions for people to be tried as an adult, depending on the circumstances, so I have no idea how these events would encourage abolishing it.
As someone who broke the occasional law as a kid, I would have been screwed up if I would have ended up in jail or with a criminal record that would have impacted my chances of getting a job out of school etc. It's not like I didn't have consequences, but they just didn't end up with me being in jail. I was a good kid, but made some bad choices from time to time as I was growing up.
I imagine there are many other people in that same situation.
