That ####ing sucks man. Obviously a really tough situation, but hopefully it was like one of those clean breaks like Stamkos and it heals up proper. Those breaks/dislocations that happen at the joints I don't think they ever heal properly.

At least it isn't a ligament injury.

Brutal. An effective Bouma is important to this team. And don't forget how many goals he scored for the Flames last year. They will needto be replaced too.

It's horrible for a warrior like Bouma to go down, but I don't feel as though this injury will see the team back at all. Granlund, Shore or Poirier could plug in some minutes and give Backlund a few more and we'll be fine

16 goals and 34 points to be exact. Frolik has been good thus far, but guys like him and Backlund and Bennett need to step up and replace Bouma's points.

I'm not panicking about Backlund yet, but he's left much to be desired. Needs to step it up, and in a hurry too.

Luckily I think Frolik/Bennett will replace Bouma's goal totals, tough luck for Lance though.

Hope he can make a speedy recovery and help give the team that extra push for the playoffs.

That sucks! He's typical a fast healer right? So maybe he'll be back in 2.5 months?

That said, I hope Granlund comes up, but Hathaway plays more like Bouma.

It's a funny bone to break. I broke mine on my left leg. Rode my motorcycle home, and drove myself to the hospital in a manual transmission car to get it checked out. It ached like crazy, but wasn't blindingly painful.

I knew something was wrong, but was pretty shocked when I was told I broke my leg, after I just walked from the regular parking into a hospital. I was lucky my fracture wasn't displaced. I thought I had just sprained my ankle real bad.

Makes Reaves an even bigger dickhead for shoving down a clearly injured player.

Dammit, and he just got healthy after being hurt for the playoffs!

Sucks for Bouma, but think we have the depth to replace him.

Hathaway, Poirier, Agostino, Granlund, etc can all come up and put in a solid shift IMO.

IIRC it was actually the injury bug that gave the team a bit of a boost after a slow start last year.

Yep, it fired up the whole play the kids/bring back the kids debate that raged for what seemed like several months.

Bouma himself was unlikely to replace those points. Realistically the biggest things we lose here are heart, hits and shot blocks, which will hurt, but mostly in unquantifiable ways.

Weird injury. Not at all what i thought the injury would be when seeing the replay of it.

I will be interested to see who they call up. I would assume Jooris gets back into the lineup. For a call up do you call up a guy like Granlund or do you call someone up that your more comfortable sitting in the pressbox.

Okey so two options...

Option 1: Put Bennett on wing, bump up the centers
Option 2: Put Jooris on wing

I think we'll get a recall of one of the older farm hands. Whoever comes up is probably going to be sitting so I'd rather it not be someone who would benefit more from the puck touches. Grant/Hathaway/Hamilton maybe.

From a pure "win now" perspective I'd probably put Bennett on the wing to improve the winger depth

Do something like:

Gaudreau-Monahan-Hudler
Bennett - Backlund - Frolik
Raymond - Stajan- Jones
Ferland - Jooris - Bollig
