I think the Jets are better than San Jose but the Pacific has some weak teams that the Sharks will rack up points against.

I think that Edmonton is going to win a few more games that will take away from the Pacific front runners... The Flames and Canucks and Sharks might not be picking up 10-12 pts by default from the Oilers this year.

I just don't see 5 teams coming out of the central this year. Didn't the oilers lose all their games to 3 of the teams in that division last year? If that changes thats a lot less points for them.

The Oilers lost to everybody. I think they won 3 games against the Pacific.

I think basement in the west will be owned by the Pacific for sure. No way the Coyotes are climbing out of the basement and the Canucks and Oilers will be right there along with the Coyotes but slightly better.
I think the Flames will play well against the Pacific again but will struggle on the road out East, so they don't win the conference because of that.
Bold prediction, the Hawks miss the playoffs and the western final features the Flames and the Stars. Seguin and Benn tear up the league this year, again and they make the playoffs.

I feel like the Ducks regress a bit this year and the Kngs come back swinging. Either way, the top 3 in the pacific should be L.A, ANA and CGY. SJ may surprise too. who knows. Although I'm not sure their shiny new goalie will be consistent enough.

Bold prediction - the Blues fail to click and start leaking goals, coaching change and still miss playoffs, though it is very tight for 8th spot between Chicago, St. Louis, San Jose and Colorado

Yeah but the flip side to that is that there are NO easy divisional games for the central teams - they are going to kick the crap out of each other all season.
At least the pacific teams have the Yotes and the Oil to enjoy.

I think 5 points could separate 2nd from 6th in the central - any of them could miss the playoffs this year. Including Chicago.
