Brutal. Hopefully we'll be in a comfortable position before then--unlikely though.

Default 2015-2016 Schedule

No choosing between Flames and Stamps games this year:

@DarrenWHaynes: Flames & Stamps play on same day four times (Oct 10, 17, 31, Nov 7) but no overlap in times and it's always one at home, other on the road.

Honestly, I am completely done with having to endure Canuck fans at the home opener. I would much rather have some variety.

I was hoping for a California trip in the fall, but no LA till February. For anyone who has been at the rinks, should I go for San Jose and Anaheim in the fall or would LA and Anaheim in the new year better games to go to? I have to go up to San Fran, so San Jose would be easy to get to.

If you're in the travelling mood:

NY back to back (Oct 25 and 26)
Florida/Tampa (Nov 10 and 12)
Anaheim/LA (Feb 21 and 23; also March 30 and 31)

I recall last year there were lots of long stretches (i.e. 4+ games), both home and away. I wonder if that means more travel this year -- if I recall correctly last year was a bit of an outlier compared to previous years...

The last 2 end of season road trips look brutal. Another tight race for a playoff spot until the end

Last two home games of the year are LA/Vancouver. Could be tight at the end again, which would make those an awesome atmosphere at the Dome.

As I noted above, last year seemed like an outlier in terms of travel. In 2015/16 there will be an increase of approximately 24% (based on the mileage figures in the article).

Someone has broken down the NHL schedule based on total distance travelled during the season: http://www.ontheforecheck.com/2015/7...edule-released

For 2015-16, the Flames will be the 4th most-travelled team in the League, behind San Jose, Edmonton, and Dallas. The Flames will travel almost 10,000 more air miles than they did last season (the biggest increase from last year of any team in the league).

Six of the seven most-travelled teams are in the Pacific Division. Dallas is the only non-Pacific team in the top seven, and Arizona is the only Pacific team not in the top seven (they're in the middle of the pack at 15). Last season, Arizona travelled more than any team in the League. Last season, the Flames were by-far the least travelled team in the Pacific.

TSN also has a breakdown of the number of back-to-backs as well as "tired" and "rested" games for each of the Canadian teams: http://www.tsn.ca/which-nhl-team-wil...15-16-1.332122

A tired game is one where the team played the night before and their opponent did not. A rested game is one where the team did not play the night before but their opponent did (any games where both teams played the previous night do not count as either rested or tired).

Calgary has 12 back-to-backs this season; 14 "rested" games; and 11 "tired" games. Edmonton's schedule is slightly easier, with 9 back-to-backs; 14 "rested" games; and only 7 "tired" games. Vancouver's schedule is slightly worse than the Flames', with 13 back-to-backs; 13 "rested" games; and 12 "tired" games.

But the part that isn't listed is the flip side. Vancouver got 22 games at home against teams on the second half of a back to back. That's a huge advantage

Anyone here from New York? Can you tell me how much the tickets will be against the Rangers and NYI

It was about $200 American per seat for first row second level to the rangers flames last year.

Thanks, I am moving there in couple of weeks, hoping to at least catch the NYR, NYI and NJ games this yr. So the ticket prices are pretty much on par with the prices in Vancouver

New Jersey will be cheap on the secondary market. The Flames aren't a big draw. MSG will be the most expensive. Brooklyn I can't say. New arena plus excitement over the team will certainly drive prices well above what I paid two years ago.
