No experience with buyiung beds from The Bay, but when we got married, (holy hell that was a long time ago), you could cash in your gift cards to The Bay for cash money.

Thought this might help if you want to head to another store to buy a bed.

We bought our mattress at The Bay and I think got about 55% off. It wasn't during a mattress sale, but he said their was one coming up in a month and would bill it during the sale. They seam to be very flexible there.

My SO and I bought from The Bay about 55% off IIRC 2 years ago (coil). It was a mattress sale though, so haggling wasn't needed as prices were already below 50% listed price (unless I fell into a trap and got a little bit ripped off, but oh well. we suck at haggling anyways). We did get an annoying issue though, but that's not related to anything shopping experience wise or the person who helped us so it shouldn't affect you.

Someone stole the sales person's sale (our sale) a few days before delivery, took the commission and booked a different delivery on that date, thus screwing up our delivery date in the process. We got an additional discount on top of the 55% (Delivery waived and another $50 off or something). We weren't really mad, but we did feel bad for that sales person who had to sort it out while knowing they had been screwed of their commission. Delivery ended up being about 2 week after the initial 3 week wait. Took a month a little to receive it
