My sons hockey team was thinking about having an 8.30 am practice tomorrow - given that they are in the midst of a bit of a playoff run I am somewhat disappointed they are not going ahead with it, but I'd imagine it would have been a gong show of sleepy heads

Arizona does it as well, although I'm not sure if they're worth following either.

Our 3 year old is suffering from colossal jet lag (us parents are as well but would be doing better if it wasn't for her) and waking up every night around 2-3 am for good. I know if she wakes up early again, at least the clock is going to read a bit later tomorrow morning. Minorly silver lining?

I like the one where I get to sleep in an extra hour. Can we just do that a couple times each year?

Don't forget the UAE!

I don't miss the "spring ahead" week. Now that I'm here, the only pain in the ass about it is trying to remember the time back home is now 10 hours behind instead of 11. When should I make that call again???

I don't know why Saskatchewan and Russia have done that, but it makes sense in Colombia since the sunrise and sunset times barely change throughout the year. The further you get from the equator, the more necessary it is to change the clocks.

Anyway, it's more of a pain not changing my clocks. I never had trouble adjusting when I lived somewhere that everyone used DST, but now I forget about the change and can't remember what time it is in North America whenever I need to make a phone call.

The greatest thing Dubya ever did was extend daylight savings. I loath standard time as I see zero benefit to it. It's still dark when I go to work, and dark well before going home. I'd rather have light or at worst dusk when going home than pitch black.

Saskatchewan does it because in theory the province should be split down the middle, with 1/2 being Mountain time and 1/2 Central time. Given that this would really mess things up. they that instead they would spend 1/2 the year on Central time and 1/2 on Mountain time.

Everyone should just move daylights savings ahead one or two hours and leave it there.

Especially true for places like Colombia. They get off work and then it gets dark at 5:30. They should just permanently push the clock ahead so that it doesn't get dark until 7:30 at night.

Would anyone really care if the sun didn't rise at 5 am? It'd affect far less people than darkness at 5-6pm.

To me, a later sunset is much more important physically and psychologically than an early sunrise. I've traveled to places where the sun sets before 7 consistently and I would hate to live in that sort of environment.

No wonder I was so tired this morning. Now that all my clocks change themselves, I never know when these days are coming.

Must resist urge to nap.

I'd rather just move to the central time zone and stay that way year round. It would be better than MST in the summer.

I would love to live in one of the places in the green.

Eastern Greenland, Libya, Iran, the Outback and Turkey?

This is good news. Only a 6 hour difference for a few weeks.

Some people have some pretty sensitive internal clocks it seems. I have to travel back to Toronto so it's like a 3 hour change for me, and it doesn't mess with my internal clock. Guess I must be one of the lucky ones.

It's pretty nice that sunset isn't until 7:30 now.

Keep adding a minute or two a day until it's 9:55 PM! Can't wait.
