Yeah he probably has had a number of good games. I just noticed his last game of 2 points and a +3 but yeah, I don't think he has many bad games. As for playing on the top line, it looks to me that their main job as usual, will be to check the other teams top line, so he should fit in fine.

Bob Hartley says Curtis Glencross is "very, very doubtful" for tomorrow's game.

To be fair though, him being out comes at a bad time. Colborne is struggling with only 1 point in his last 5, we all know about Raymonds issues and we have nobody else viable to draw into the top 6.

And what are these consequences? The issue with Glencross is that we are likely going to have to give him decent term and money for him to stay. Is that a good idea from our point of view? No, so it makes sense to trade him at the deadline, save us losing him for nowt a la Cammy. Because if we trade him, that for me(unless we add some of similar quality) we are sellers and aren't all in for the play offs.

Don't think anyone was making a case that trading Glencross wouldn't result in a hit, but those who were saying trade him did so at a time when Granlund was producing, Jooris wasn't out injured and Raymond and Colborne were in better form.

We are a number of players down for a couple of reasons. Losing Glencross now comes at a terrible time and trading him now would be insanity.

As you say it will depend on our playoff chances and it will also depend on how much and for how long Glencross demands are. This last part is unknown. People say well he isn't going to take a discount and he's said he's looking for big money this time but that could just be a bargaining position. What's he going to say, "Well I really like playing in Calgary and I'll sign for whatever they want"?

The way Glencross was skating out there i'm kind of glad he didn't finish the game. Seemed to be floating a lot early. I think he must have been injured coming into the game.

As I said earlier in the thread, I think Glencross has been hurt for a while now but been gutting through it like a warrior because the rest of the team was hurt. Some time on the IR may do him some good.

It sucks that it comes right before the California road trip when we really need him, but thats been the Flames' luck all season.

Do you guys think the Bouma line will play against Jumbo Joe? That's a scary prospect.

Since we're on the road it is tougher matching lines obviously....not sure which line the Sharks will be wanting against their top unit. But yes I would think Monahan's line would be Hartley's preference. Or I dunno, maybe he wants Backlund's line head to head to try to pin them in their zone.

And yes I agree that's scary.

On the TSN highlights it showed when Glencross was injured. He tried to take a shot and slightly twisted his knee on the release. It should have been nothing but if his knee was already hurting, that could explain it.

Bouma might be really effective on Monahan's line. He's not afraid to throw his weight around out there and he is fast enough to get into the dirty areas in all 3 zones.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Raymond can make some positive impact.

I'm expecting Ortio to have to stand on his head again for us to have a chance.

Also worth noting the earned factor here. It would have been easy to put Raymond on Monahan's wing, but Bouma had a great game last night, and is rewarded instead.

He's good at cashing checks since he joined the Flames though. Not much else...

He scored a hat trick against the Oilers. Any player that does that is ok with me.
