Doug Marrone gambled on himself...and lost. He's signed in Jacksonville as an assistant head coach/offensive line coach. Even though financially I can't say what he did was wrong, he's probably never going to get another head coaching job again after abandoning the Bills. Terrible decision long term.

And if you were wondering what a joke the Pro Bowl is, Andy Dalton is now in it. Please cancel it already.

I just saw a tweet saying Dalton was the 7th(!) alternate for AFC QB.

I honestly don't see why they don't put Manziel out there. I mean every defensive player would want to kill him, most of his offensive teammates would probably let him take a beating, and it's got ratings dynamo potential. If the game is gonna be a joke, give us some entertainment at least.

Sounds like Marc Trestman is in as OC of the Ravens:

Not sure how I feel about this... he was kind of a disaster as the Bears head coach.

Haha once Wilson gets signed to his 20-25 million/year deal the Hawks will have a tough time to keep there depth that has made them so successful.

It'll be interesting to see where Suh goes, hes gonna get a fat contract. Maybe he comes to the 49ers since Ray McDonald was cut and Justin Smith might be retiring...

I think it's the Bears, not Trestman... although he did show he is not nearly ready to be a heac coach as everything did kind of fall apart under him.

Either way, Flacco is a much more gounded QB and shouldn't be as hard to work with, but Trestman had Cutler throwing the ball. All. The. Time. I'm not sure if Flacco is ready for that, especially since they lack a Matt Forte in the backfield.

Either way, I'll be paying a bit more attention to Ravens games this year

Trestman did pretty good as a QB coach in a bunch of places in his first NFL stint, including going to the SB with Oakland those years back.

Interesting that Fox is interviewing Gase as the OC...if he doesn't get it, that speaks volumes probably about what happened in DEN.

It would appear Peyton is coming back
Quote:
According to three trustworthy sources, Manning wants to return to the Broncos, but won't and can't make a final decision until he takes an annual physical examination mandated by his contract. Last year, the test results were learned at the beginning of March. The Broncos have requested that Manning let them know his plans by March 9 — the day before teams must exercise their rights on veteran players under contract. Manning, who turns 39 on March 24, is due $19 million next season.

With Gase going to the Bears that should put to rest the rumours of a rift between Gase and Fox. It really should be good for Cutler. Does that mean Dennison is definitely coming with Kubiak? I haven't seen anything other than the Bengals saying no to the Broncos to interview Joseph for the DC job

Dennison by all accounts will be coming with Kubiak but does it really matter? Kubiak will be calling plays anyway and Peyton will be changing them all at the line.

I watched the vast majority of Kubiak's games as a HC in Houston. He's really just...meh. He's a good OC, and he always managed to get his players to play hard for him, but he just really wasn't that great as a HC. He was often way too conservative and predictable, and combining that with his inability to make changes on the fly was not a combo for success.

He is also a 'players coach', and sometimes it seemed like he chose being nice over holding players accountable. I won't be surprised if he finds some success, but I really don't see him as a Super Bowl winning coach.

Now THIS is a twitter rant: Brent Grimes' wife, Miko Grimes, lets it fly:
http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpo...#__federated=1

Although if she thinks her husband should have been Defensive POY instead of JJ Watt, well then good for her supporting her husband but she may not be the most balanced.

Did she say something wrong though? The NFL is the shadiest league out there.

Roger Goodell is in the David Stern league of shadiness, without question. Goodell is by far the worst commissioner in sports right now, amazing how the NBA now has the best commissioner in sports too.
