Never seen the guy play, and never registered his name before the trade. He's had complimentary things said about him by Treliving and others, but he was acquired 1-for-1 for Corban Knight, a guy who wasn't exactly kicking down the door to the NHL.
Basically, I have no idea what to expect, not even an expectation of ho-hum.
How about the pre-season game with Theo Fleury returning- scoring in the shootout to win it?
Not sure that really applies to your question [EDIT: Definitely doesn't as that wasn't even his first preseason game that year!] , but that was the most electric the Dome has EVER been for an exhibition game- and probably the most fun since the games during the '04 run.
Others include Baertschi's first game, Johnny Hockey's first game last year, Jokinen's 1st (the 1st time), Connroy's return, and a great memory during the dark times was the surprise of Fast Freddy Brathwaite! He was really fun to cheer for in those days.

Reason: Answered own question..and video link
I was going to pick the 2nd option on the poll, but took the first option - he will hit the scoresheet.
I selected that one for a few reasons:
1) Arizona sucks now
2) How many rookies playing their 1st game with the Flames get on the scoresheet? Like, almost all of them!
3) Arizona really sucks, and we have pwned them thus far.
MacGrattan's return to Calgary. That was the game where he pounded Sestito then saluted the crowd, wasn't it?
Was just going to mention that. I think that game alone cemented his status as a "fan favorite".
I am forever an optimist, so I chose the first option: "A standout". I will likely be wrong, but I always hope for the best and accept it when things don't go well, rather than expect bad things and be pleasantly surprised once in a while.

Pretty good. White CCM helmet, white jersey with the Flames logo. Black gloves. Visor. Probably pretty similar to the other the guys on the team (but with less stick marks on his jersey because it's brand new).
This acquisition, and recalling him to the NHL so quickly confuses the heck out of me, considering our depth at centre now and into the future.
It would be nice if this is Treveling's first home run as a GM. All his guys so far have been average to underwhelming.
So I'm hopeful this will be the first gem discovered by our new GM. Kind of like Sutter did early in his tenure with Donovan, Nieminen, Simon or Huselius. And Kiprusoff, le duh.

follow question of course ... memorable first games with the Flames
Tonelli
Bullard
Conroy coming back
Kiprusoff
Mullen
Sergei Priakin had a very memorable debut for me.......a Russian that was given the green light by the USSR to play in the NHL. Didn't know anything about the guy, but I remember being glued to the TV to see what he was all about. I think it was against the Jets, his first shift he made a nifty little deke at center ice, it was pretty cool. Obviously his career didn't go far, but to have a Russian make his debut with the Flames was a pretty cool moment.

Johnny Gaudreau with one of the most anticipated first games with the Flames in recent memory.
Conroy's return (two goals IIRC) was pretty special. After Jokinen's first game (two goals), everybody thought "we finally got a first line centre to play with Iggy"
I think him and Colborne hit the scoresheet for at least one (even though I chose option #2).
I think a good comparison for him is a cross between Granlund (in how he plays and talent level) and Colborne (because he is big and uses his size in similar ways).
My expectation for the remainder of the season is that he is motivated and excited for the opportunity, plus he fits in well on the 3rd line, resulting in about a 30-35 point pace for the last 39 games (or roughly 15-17 points as a Flame)
I said it in the intro but Joey Mullen was my big one.
I was at the Dome the night they dealt for him. Game ended in a 4-4 tie with Edmonton with a big Flames come back, then they announce the deal live on radio as bumper to bumper traffic made its way out of the Dome. Fletcher was classic in announcing the guys going to St. Louis including Eddy Beers, then announcing the guys coming back in the order of Rik Wilson, Terry Johnson and ... Joey Mullen. Boom!
Then a few days later he debuts and is dominant. Put up 39 points in the teams final 28 games and then the team goes on a run to the cup final.
Felt like the first real game breaker addition every for me. Awesome.
I voted invisible, and don't mean it in a negative way at all. First game with a new organization I think not being noticeable will be a good thing. Needs to get his feet wet with a lot of new players.
