Do you think depending on how well Sven/Ferland do possibly affects Glencross's extension with us?

Sven was way better this time around. He's definitely a prospect that has high up side that needs a lot of seasoning. Compared to last season he's a different player. You may not see it on the score sheet yet but he's better on the boards, plays a better 200ft game and to me shows more urgency this year than last.

Baertschi needs to go down and do nothing but out score everyone else on the roster. Good luck Sven, you're playing for your next contract over the next three months. Make the team keep you!

I'd imagine he gets offered a contract regardless.

He needs to go down and continue playing a full game, while scoring.

Good. Kid still isn't ready. Detroit develops guys this way.

I predict he will be traded before we see him back up with the big club. The Flames just have too much depth in the role that he plays, and I don't get the sense that Burke, Treliving, or Hartley are enamoured with his performance to date.

What that contract is is open for debate. I'd like to see him play so well the team is forced to give him a one way with a pretty decent salary. That's the challenge though. He's got to step up and earn that. The only way he does that is if he goes down and starts scoring.

Jooris is not a good comparable. Jooris may be older, but he is also doesn't have to be exposed to the waiver wire. He has stepped up and earned a spot in the window expected. Baertschi is coming to the end of his waiver exempt status and was expected to have earned a spot by now. Teams want players that they don't have to be concerned about losing on waivers. Next season Baertschi finds himself in the Joe Colborne realm. Very different circumstances.

No surprise here. We all knew when injured players started getting healthy, Baertschi, Ferland and even Granlund will go back to Adirondack. I was surprised he didn't get sent down when they activated Stajan in the lineup.

I expect this will be a big game for Ferland or he could be the next to get sent down.

That is some kind of concrete analysis.

I can see Baertschi and Ferland replacing Glencross and Raymond when they leave.

A bit of a victory lap on the RGI and 3-4 soft player limit:

3 soft players allowed. Gaudreau Hudler and only one other currently Baertschi

Or maybe LW gets healthy, LW gets sent back?

So you think Baertschi's father's comments in the media were actually Baertschi speaking?

I thought he played pretty well, and I know he's working on things so his mind is not set on scoring but I do hope that he tears it up in Addy.
