Oh come on! How about the ending!? "How do I stop it Dr. Oc?" , "You can't stop it Peter!", "Oh wait, you could drown it!" Oh good thing he built over top of the river!!! Come on!!!! Don't insult my intelligence with that kind of writing! So lame!
|
Meh, its based on a comic book, I am not against putting up with a bit of lameness. If you can beleive a scientist welded 4 mechanical arms to his body and went insane doing so... then dying over water is hard to beleive?

I don't care if its based on a comic book, thats no excuse for such lame writing. I have no problem suspending my beleifs, I totally fall for the Matrix, LOTR, Hellboy, but that because those movies actually have some substance. How about that "hero" speech by Aunt May? Who talks like that? Seriously! Nobody on earth talks like that, let alone an 80 year old woman who just happens to rattle off that speech off of the top of her head!?! Sorry man, its just a horribly written movie. Then again, I am in the minority because most of my friends loved it, so i see where you're coming from.

Okay, you lost me by saying Hellboy, totally lost me.
The comic book had some depth. The movie was a joke, just awful. Also the Matrix.. which only had depth when fanboys around the internet tried to make it have some deep feelings.

Well see, thats why these things are so hard, all the personal bias. I love the Hellboy comics and I found the movie really entertaining and the Matrix, I only mean the first one. When I think back to the first time I saw it and how the whole concept of the Matrix sucked me in, it was pretty cool. Don't get me wrong, I totally understand you point of view, I just hated Spider-Man 2. I am pretty opinionated and I really either love something or hate it, there is usually no middle ground with me.

Fair enough. A movie has got to be flat out horrible for me to hate it... I mean Kangaroo Jack bad for me to hate it. The last two Matrix movies just plain sucked in my mind.. I was just bored, plain bored.

I couldn't agree more about the last two matrix movies. Except for one or two scenes from each one, they were just plain bad. I have fortunately never seen Kangaroo Jack.

Lets just say Blockbuster took my money, and they aren't giving it back. A "friend" rented it as a joke one night. A put friend in paranthesis because I'm not sure if I like him anymore after that.
The Matrix had the potential to be great, the first one was interesting, and Mr. Reeves wasn't as annoying as he should have been. But they just got silly in the last two. They went way over the top and started to beleive all the vast biblicle ties geeks on the internet tried to tie to the movie, so the creators put that in.
The whole rave/dance scene in #2.. was... ah... awful.

And the whole rave/dance scene was like 15 minutes long! I remember sitting there going "wtf is this all about?" Pointless, totally pointless. Is Kangaroo Jack "Showgirls" bad? Now that was bad. Any movie where I get tired of looking at boo-yakas is just horrible.

Now I fully understand the scope of its badness.

He can play such a wide range of characters, I'm surprised he isn't in more movies as well!

I`m no sci-fi geek so my list is more action oriented:
1. Aliens (love all 4, but the second movie is the best IMO)
2. Terminator 2 (liked first one too, but second is much much better)
3. Matrix (part one, I expected much more from the other 2)
Honorable mention - original Star Trek movies.
I can`t remember whether I`ve seen Bladerunner or not...shame shame
