I want #2 and #14 off limits and retired too.

About Selanne, the guy is just pure class. Good for Anaheim doing this.

Need some help from the Tech side. How can I upload a picture. I have a beauty of a drunken night at Grapes on Main in Winnipeg. Selanne was out with some of the Flames after the game. He signed my jersey I wanna be one of Calgary Flames someday.

I should have got him right smashed and signed him to a contract. Would love to put the picture up on the forum

It needs to be hosted. Honestly, the easiest is to have the picture on your phone and do the post via Tapatalk.

How Selanne almost became a member of the Flames

Quote:
Back in 1992, the Calgary Flames presented an offer sheet to a forward who had not yet played in his first NHL game.

The Flames offered the Finnish Flash a three-year deal at $400,000 per season, plus a $1.5MM signing bonus, as reported by the Winnipeg Free Press. Keep in mind, in 1992, that was a huge contract. Wayne Gretzky was the highest-paid player at $3MM, leading scorer Mario Lemieux was bringing home $2.3MM, and Norris-trophy-winning defenseman Brian Leetch was earning a whopping $250,000.'

The Jets quickly matched the contract; it’s a good thing they did, since Selanne would go on to score a rookie-record 76 goals the following season.

Amen to that. Forever a Flame is cop out BS move by ownership and management.
If the Flames want to live up to being classy then retire the deserved numbers that are already up there for starters.
2 & 25
KKing last year stated The Flames would reserve these numbers to be worn by future exceptional players only.
Like Bollig ???????????
It is a complete joke that Joe's number supposedly was honored yet a 4th line bubble player wears his number.
Why do the Flames as an organization feel they are above the rest of the league on this simple issue of respecting past great players.
The banners are a fantastic but do the right thing quite being pompous and retire the damn numbers.
