Please bring back Loubo. Best television PBP guy the Flames have had for years.
My condolences you those who lost their jobs.
My guess is Ryan Pinder gets the job.

I didn't hate Kerr like some but it's the right move. Glad they didn't stop with just him. Simmer was no treat.
Hope they get the next combo correct.

Kerr was great on FAN 960 and it would be a real shame if he doesn't go back there, although he may have bigger opportunities now.
Hopefully if anything this means Loubo is out at FAN 960 and not brought back to TV where he was awful.

Can we just have the Peter Maher radio call for tv as well? I remember when Flames.com streamed the pre-season games with Peter's call, and it was fantastic. They don't even have to change anything. They are already paying the guy too. It would be cheap AND good!

Wonder what happens/if anything happens with Roger Millions as well with Sportsnet, if he stays in his current position, gets promoted again or let go with the other two.

Hope they manage to shuffle them around somewhere. Didn't like them in their most recent roles but they have their strengths

Ohh thank goodness. SN did something, finally.
Really hope Kerr goes back to the radio program. There's a vacancy for the big show with his name on it.
Really looking forward to the new PBP crew.

Roger is good at what he does. A good host and a good presenter. I'm not a huge fan of his interviews but that's a tough gig to get anything out of those guys, especially during a game so hard to fault him there. I'd imagine he stays at his current position. I know some are a fan of his play-by-play skills but I'd much prefer he stay doing what he's doing.

All the best to both Rob Kerr and Charlie Simmer. Both are decent people and it always sucks when decent people lose their jobs.
I hope they find themselves in jobs elsewhere soon.

Really hope Kerr makes it back to radio if he's interested. He's great on the FAN, just wasn't a hit as a PBP guy.

Maher's not on top of his game anymore, he's starting to lose the play and forget names and all that. He's a hall of famer, but the Flames should hire a first rate, fresh commentator crew. We deserve that.
Also, Radio play by play is designed to be different than TV. They need to paint a more clear picture for listeners, and it tends to be a little overbearing if you're already watching the play in front of you.

Rob Kerr needs to be in a position where he can delve into and pick apart a topic for an extended period of time. He is fantastic at that. PBP just seemed like such a bad place for the guy considering his skill-set. I really hope he comes back to radio.

Kerr was awesome in the afternoon on 960 and has the "host" for the Flames radio show. Ideally for Flames fans, he gets that job back if he wants it.

I enjoyed Loubo doing the PBP calls, but I'd prefer someone new this time. The TSN guys who called the NCAA Frozen Four would be great. They were such a treat to listen to, and really added to the excitement of the games.

Yeah, I'm one of those that thinks he calls a great game. If they had stuck with him the whole time (I can't remember when he last did PBP) I think he'd be a really strong PBP guy by now.
imo, sportsnet had two great PBP guys right in the booth in Millions and Loubardias, and in both cases made decisions too quick. Now they're making the right call, and hopefully they get a good team in there.

Of course most of us didn't think they were up to par, and this decision reinforces that. But I hate when people cheer others for losing their jobs.

This. Especially, If I recall correctly, BookOfLoob was one of the biggest proponents of getting Loumbo axed from Sportsnet.
I personally, didn't mind Simmer or Kerr, but I'm also not really picky when it comes to PBP, so I hope they both land on their feet soon.
