Awesome. Will help so much with the gap between now and the draft.

Monahan vs. Gaudreau. Going to be a lot of fun!

I wonder if this was known before he and the Flames made a deal that would keep him out of the AHL playoffs?

Well, if parents were not sure if they wanted Johnny to go pro, how do you convince them?

1st NHL goal > AHL playoffs (or championship for that matter).

if he can maintain his stellar play, which i think he will (doesn't appear he knows any other way play) he could be a force coming into next year, might just be a really good way to gain confidence against world class players.

Soooooo, I guess that whole finishing his semester off is a dead idea. Cool beans though! That's four of the Flames top five players heading off to the worlds!

Johnny goal per game is going to make it pretty tough on the competition

Canada plays a lot of crap teams. Italy, Norway, and France? How about you cut back on the number of teams IIHF.

Outstanding good news for the Flames. Johnny gets to play at a much higher level than the NCAA. This will do wonders for helping him be ready for next season.
I hope he does exactly what Monahan did and force the coaches to choose him by working his way onto the big team.
This is a great opportunity for Gaudreau.

How did Edmonton miss on this kid?? You'd think they would have swooped in on him with their second rounder. Johnny is too much of a team player and too unselfish?? Ha!

Anyway, Congrats Johnny!! Wish you much success there. It will help his development playing against much better competition than in college.
