Haha watch Nashville win the draft lottery and take Ekblad.
I think Flames are trending up too much while Nashville are trending down too much, so obviously Nashville will surprise and win this game 4-2 with an empty netter.
I don't want to see it, but I feel confident about this game which is never a good thing for the result.

I will rage if they get both Jones and Ekblad.

Go Flames Go!!!
I'd rather have our team than the majority of NHL teams out there. Straight up there aren't many rosters I'd trade, love what we got going on. I've watched enough boring games to appreciate passion and heart. Either you bring heart or you bring the cup, pick one.

That's the problem with the Flames and a lot of their fans; they think that hard work and heart is good enough. I mentioned in another thread that the only time the Flames were even considered a top western team is when they were outworking everyone, the main issue is that in the playoffs the more talented teams step it up to match our effort and blow us out of the water skill wise.
The only reason you wouldn't trade our roster for one of a better team is because of the homer glasses. Our team is a bottom 5 team in the NHL. We should want change.

Yeah, pretty much all the top teams, teams that have a legit chance to win the cup, have awesome talent and work hard. You need both.

No, the only reason I wouldn't change is because I watched every game for the past few years and this years significantly less talented team has provided more entertainment than the past few years combined. I remember one game last year against San Jose was fun when Iggy got mad, that was it, one game with memorable moments. I'll take this years heart and soul over a middle of the road country club any day.

I think I understood your initial post in this sense as well. It was the 'more-talented-than-in-prior-years' Flames that kept missing playoffs, not due to a lack of skill, but a clear lack of effort and commitment to a team game.
This team certainly works hard, and because of what we've been accustomed to the past few seasons, it's a pleasant change. It makes things acceptable--for now. Remember: our current expectations are low--if they're still bottom five in three-five years, 'hard work' will not be enough!

well obviously, with how fast they are improving I doubt they'll be there next year. If Ortio pans out we might bust out of the basement sooner as opposed to later, the hope that comes along with their mentallity is a big part of it. With Calgary I go, yeah we're not in such a bad spot. If we were Edmonton it would be fml, how could it be any worse?

FYI: The #Flames have the best home ice differential between PPG allowed & SHG scored since the 1967-68 season!

Unfortunately, that rarely happens in "The Library". However, it is a Friday night, so let's hope there will be more energy in there than the last game. I felt sorry for Harvey at the last game. He was banging his drum and no one was cheering.
Enjoy the game!
