Should Canadian born naturalized US citizens play for Team Canada?

ya, people are free to choose, that is why there rules say so.

I have no problem with anyone playing for Canada as long as they follow the rules and call Canada home, whether they were born there or not.

I'm still trying to figure that one out. I thought that under IIHF rules that once you represented a country in international competition that you could not represent another even with a change in citizenship. Come to think of it it is probably an exception made under the Soviet Republic dissolving context.

Nolan was raised mostly in Thorold, Ontario. I do not know when he became a canadian citizen.

Steve Smith was born in Glasgow, Scotland and did play for Team Canada.

Myers chose Canada over America despite being born in Texas.
